There are numerous expensive hotels in Nairobi. The cheapest form of accommodation is backpacker-type accommodation, but these establishments often provide very low levels of service and security. We normally recommend staying at one of the various Christian guesthouses such as the Methodist Guest House, which is located just a ten minute drive from Dagoretti Corner:

Standard rooms are $43 per night single or $60 per night double, and the quiet atmosphere of the guest house each evening will help you process the culture shock which you will experience when visiting the slums.
